Turn Down the Heat
Over use of heated styling tools can have a negative impact on your hair. It can strip out the natural oils and proteins. Only using your curlers, straighteners or hairdryer every once in a while can kick start your healthy hair habits.
Use Sulphate Free Shampoo
Many high street shampoos contain harsh cleansing agents that can strip away your hair’s natural defences. Sulphates are added to shampoos because they are effective cleaning agents and lather up nicely.
However, there are many sulphate-free shampoos on the market. We are more than happy to offer advice on the best products.
Brush Before Bed
Brushing your hair before bed can help evenly distribute your scalp’s natural oils and improve scalp circulation. Furthermore, brushing every day regardless of your hair’s texture will help exfoliate the scalp and remove dead hair.
Sleep on a Silk Pillowcase
Silk not only feels great, it can also play a role in keeping your hair in the best condition. Cotton pillowcases are absorbent and can slowly dry out your hair while you sleep.
Furthermore, silk pillowcases can also reduce friction which can cause tangles and breakage.
Trim Regularly
Regularly trimming your split ends is important. If you don’t cut them, damage can begin to spread up the length of your hair. This can leave your hair weakened and brittle. We recommend trimming your hair every 6-8 weeks, even if you are growing it out.
