Test Patch -What to look for
A test Patch is a small trail in the treatment area which allows the clinician to asses how well the light energy is being absorbed and whether the skin is responding as would be expected.
Please make a note of any changes to the skin following the patch so that you can report back to the clinician before proceeding with treatment.

POST TREATMENT ADVICE
- Typically normal activities can proceed following treatment. It is best to avoid any activity that will cause excessive heat e.g. saunas excessive exercise, massage to the area etc. Cool packs may be applied if the treated area feels hot.
- Makeup should be avoided on the treated area for 24 hours unless it is a natural mineral make-up. Remove make-up carefully as rubbing the area could cause irritation.
- Following the treatment the area may appear red and raised , you may experience a tingling sensation. This is normal and should settle over few days.
- Wash and bathe as normal but take tepid showers rather than hot baths. The skin should be patted dry and not rubbed. You may use an aloe moisturiser or after sun cream to keep the skin moisturised and protected.
- Occasionally you may experience swelling or bruising and this can last anything from 1-2 weeks. If you experience swelling its usually worse for the first 2 days following treatment. Cool packs will help to reduce the swelling and redness. If you experience swelling in the facial area sleeping with raised pillows may help reduce swelling.
- Use sun screen SPF 30 and protect the area from the sun light for up to one month afterwards and between treatments.
- If blistering or other adverse reactions occur contact the clinic immediately on 01206 851770 or 077492745719 (TEXT) or email suzannehunt01@gmail.com for further advice. Do not burst small blisters (large blisters may require medical attention). Do not use any other lotions or creams as it will increase the risk of infection.
