The heat that is targeted into the skin causes the inflamed sebaceous glands to shrink whilst simultaneously helping to prevent the excess production of sebum. Successful treatment can also incorporate the use of a chemical peel prior to the light therapy treatment. Whilst the peel exfoliates the dead skin cells that together with the sebum, block the pores, the light helps penetrate the skin.
